Charlize Theron in New Single Motherhood Role
Charlize Theron was the first African to win US Academy Awards in major acting categories for her role as Aileen in Monster.
Apart from Afrikaans, she talks fluent English; her father was shot by Charlize’s mother as he was an alcoholic and he used to threaten physically and mentally both women.
She started modeling at the age of 16 in Europe and then attended a Ballet School in US, but she had to close this career path due to her knee injury. So she intended to work in movies, but she was rejected by many directors at first. Later with the success of The Devil’s Advocate, she got many films in hand, including Monster for which she won Oscar Award.
The Oscar-winning actress dated Stuart Townsend for nine years and separated in 2010. In March 2012, she adopted a child, named Jackson and now she is a proud mom of an American-African kid.
